Paris, May 10 — A wave of Eastern cultural innovation swept across the banks of the Seine today as the “International Chinese Communication Great Wall Plan” and the “Planetarians Transdimensional Digital Concert” were jointly unveiled at the 2025 Encounter China Cultural Exhibition during the Paris International Expo (SOUFFLE D'ORIENT 2025 EXPOSITION THÉMATIQUE SUR LA CULTURE CHINOISE). The event brought together over 60 leading figures from Chinese and French political, business, cultural, and academic sectors, marking a new era of intelligent communication in China-Europe cultural exchange under the theme “Technology Decodes Civilization, Art Connects the World.”

As a tribute to the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and EU, the event was hosted by the China Taiji International Cultural Exchange Center, Culture China Media Co., Ltd., and ZhongMan Digital Technology (ChongQing) Co., Ltd., with support from Chinese Key Technology Co., Ltd. (Shenzhen), Guangzhou XingYou Technology Co., Ltd., Smart Chinese Key Limited (Hong Kong), and He Taiji International Cultural Development Co., Ltd.

Redefining Global Chinese Communication

The “New Great Wall Initiative for International Chinese Promotion” aims to redefine international Chinese communication by moving beyond traditional language education models. It establishes a comprehensive “technology & culture & education” global communication matrix. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and visual cognitive science, the plan breathes new life into the Chinese writing system in the digital realm. It seeks to build a lasting “Cultural Great Wall” that promotes understanding and exchange between civilizations and contributes uniquely to a shared future for humanity.

Unlocking the Chinese Language: Chinese Key (Clavis Sinica)

At the heart of the Great Wall Plan is the Chinese Key Visual Input Method, invented by Dr. John Chu, who delivered a keynote address at the event. Dr. Chu described Chinese Key as a groundbreaking tool that opens the door to Chinese civilization. More than a language tool, it answers a centuries-old philosophical question: “How to systematically understand Chinese characters?”.

By bypassing phonetic memorization and stroke-based lookup methods, Chinese Key allows learners—particularly non-native speakers—to master character recognition and input through an innovative system of visual structures and component relationships. Rooted in linguistic theory, AI algorithms, and cognitive science, this visual-first approach provides an intuitive, efficient gateway into Chinese literacy and intercultural understanding.

UNESCO Perspective: A Call for Cultural Dialogue

Irina Bokova, former Director-General of UNESCO, attended the exhibition and highlighted China’s rich cultural heritage and its commitment to safeguarding traditions while fostering international cooperation. Reflecting on the 50th anniversary of China-EU relations, she emphasized the importance of deeper cultural dialogue and collaborative innovation.

Reimagining Performance: The Planetarians Digital Concert

The event also marked the global debut of the “Planetarians Transdimensional Digital Concert.” Lv Xiaoguang introduced this revolutionary performance format, which uses XR, 4D light-field scanning, and naked-eye 3D display technologies to dissolve the boundaries between reality and the virtual.

These digital concerts are more than technical marvels—they represent a new paradigm for immersive cultural experience. In “Circle of Stars”, a digital stage inspired by humanistic and ecological themes, performers interact with dynamic, AI-driven backdrops. Ancient Chinese symbols come alive in shifting lights and shadows, allowing audiences—especially Gen Z—to absorb cultural heritage in an entirely new, intuitive way.

A Bridge Across Continents and Generations

From the mythic invention of Chinese characters by CangJie to the age of the metaverse, this launch event traced a sweeping arc of civilizational evolution. When Dr. Chu illuminated the Chinese character “和” (peace) using Chinese Key (Clavis Sinica), the French vocabulary “Paix” (peace) and Chinese Character “和”(peace) appeared in the same time in synchrony across the Grand Palais dome in Paris—an artistic and technological projection that embodied a shared vision of global unity.

The “Great Wall Plan” is not merely a language project, but a digital operating system for intercultural dialogue, designed for a generation fluent in both code and culture. Each Chinese character becomes a portal into millennia of history, and each digital performance a spaceport for civilizational exchange.
